Description

The subject of this call for tenders is landscaping work in the area of the RheinPark in 47053 Duisburg. The RheinPark is a 25-hectare green area between Duisburg's Hochfeld district in the east and the Rhine in the west. The park extends from Rhine kilometer 774 to 775, north of the Kultushafen. The Rheinpark is located on a site formerly used by heavy industry and was converted into a leisure area in the 2000s. It is modelled as a meadow landscape and planted with about 3,000 trees. A network of paths runs through the park, the paths overcome with several bridges and underpasses a freight railway line running parallel to the Rhine, in operation. The modelling of the surfaces results in numerous gaps, ramps and height differences. There are playgrounds, a skate park and a restaurant in the park. During the construction period and the period of completion and development maintenance, the park is still open to the public.
