The building of the Faculty of Architecture & Landscape in Herrenhäuser Str. 8 was built in the 1960s as a school of art in massive construction (reinforced concrete skeleton construction); A major interior renovation took place in 2001/2002. The building consists of 5 parts (A-E). The building has been added to the list of cultural monuments of the state capital Hannover by the Lower Saxony State Office for the Preservation of Monuments. As part of a separate measure, Leibniz University Hannover is planning to renovate the facade and some roof areas of the building. In order to exploit synergies, e.g. in the evacuation of building areas, and to work directly on the interfaces between the two measures (e.g. connection of fire protection walls to window facades), the facade renovation is also carried out in parallel with the fire protection renovation.
