The award "Bird-friendly Garden" is a very successful and high-profile project of the Bavarian Species Conservation Centre together with the Bavarian Association for Bird and Nature Conservation (Landesbund für Vogel- und Naturschutz in Bayern e.V.). Between the years from 2021 to 2024, more than 4,000 gardens (as of the end of August 2024) were evaluated, several press releases and other articles were published in various newspapers, magazines and TV and audio formats. This success is to be continued for another three years. After three successful years of action, it will be announced that the Bird-Friendly Garden award will be continued for a further three years. This requires Bavarian-wide acquisition, training and coordination of voluntary garden jury, including provision of evaluation materials, public relations measures for information and acquisition of garden owners (at least two joint press releases, action days, ministerial appointments, maintenance of the associated website), management of garden registrations as well as inquiries, travel expenses, data management, evaluation and presentation in an appropriate form and the preparation of two interim reports and a final report.
