Description

A project officer was sought to carry out the tasks of project control for the BMBF in accordance with the provisions of DIN 69901 and monitors the appropriate use of funds. Project control focuses on checking that project objectives and costs are met and the effectiveness and efficiency of the project is ensured. The following priorities will be taken into account:
— Intended/actual comparison,
— Identification of discrepancies,
— Assess the consequences and
— Propose corrective actions,
— Evaluation of action planning and monitoring of implementation.
The aim of the desired project monitoring is to work on behalf of the BMBF and in cooperation with the companies responsible for setting up the project to ensure the efficient conduct of the deployment phase and the achievement of the technical objectives of the project. The project officer monitors the progress of the projects using recognised business management methods for project monitoring and project control. In particular, it must monitor the cost and schedules of the projects, assess the risks involved and draw up tools for accompanying cost control. In doing so, it must take into account the requirements of the various parts of the project supported (e.g. funding guidelines and ancillary provisions, allocation of equipment). It advises the BMBF on the basis of its findings from project monitoring and makes recommendations on the strategic and research governance and development of the projects and their management. It is expected to establish and monitor a regular trend analysis, a coordinated milestone setting and a functioning early warning system.
