Description

For the German Navy, up to 20 identical port tugs with a working deck of class 724, which meet the requirements of a recognized classification society and the German flag, are to be procured from an already ongoing series production. In addition to the use as a pure tug, an additional use as a "flexible capability carrier" is intended, which allows the inclusion of two ISO 20-foot standard containers or four ISO 10-foot containers and a technical sea endurance of at least seven days. Due to the current security situation, short-term procurement (until 2028) is necessary to contain Russia's ongoing hybrid war against the Federal Republic of Germany and its allies in the North and Baltic Sea regions. The aim is to replace the six approximately 35-year-old port tugs of class 725 that are no longer in demand at the German Navy. The aforementioned port tugs are procured in particular for the performance of the following operational tasks: • Assistance/bugging/maneuvering of naval vessels and boats on shipping lines and in port, • Towing of naval vessels, boats and equipment in port and near-coastal sea area, • Accompanying sea target shooting including transport, deployment and towing of sea targets, • Inclusion of two ISO 20-foot standard containers or four ISO 10-foot containers, • Support during shipyard testing, stand tests and compensation voyages, • Ice service in ports, • Firefighting in port and at sea, • Assistance in case of water pollution and • Securing and salvage of ships and boats at sea.
