Description

The dtec.bw project DS2CCP has set itself the goal of researching and developing safety and security concepts for industrial applications, especially in the field of aviation and mechanical and plant engineering within the framework of suitable Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). During the implementation of the dtec.bw project DS2CCP, the potential for the research and development of counter-UAS systems, especially in the field of automated intercepting drones, has been demonstrated, especially in the field of analysis and evaluation of relevant wireless communication technologies. The abusive use of private drones in urban areas and the increasing use of drones as a means of combat show the need for the most complete detection of drones and the possibility of intercepting them in a targeted manner. The subproject UAS-TS5G is now intended to address the previously insufficiently solved challenge of systematically detecting uncooperative drones in urban areas, assessing their threat potential in a context-dependent manner and automatically taking countermeasures. HSU/UniBw H and T-Systems on site services GmbH (T-Systems) jointly intend to develop a long-term stable drone hazard index (hereinafter also referred to as ‘DGI’) and to establish a prototypical sensor network for the detection of drones via LTE/5G/Ethernet. This includes the development of an AI-powered data processing pipeline to fuse data streams from different sources. T-Systems makes a significant contribution to this with the provision and analysis of bearing data as well as system optimizations. By merging technical, geographical and social context data into a dynamic situational picture, a real-time UAV intervention chain is to be realized.
