Germany-Kirchheimbolanden: Engineering services
The 27.7 km long and unelectrified Langmeil – Monsheim railway line (Pfalz) – Monsheim, was reactivated in 2001 for excursions on Sundays and public holidays during the summer months. In order to keep the option of fully integrating this route into the Rhineland-Palatinate Takt open, excursion traffic is to continue for the next 15 years.
Zellertalbahn is owned by DB Netz AG and is leased by Donnersbergkreis as an infrastructure manager. In order to maintain excursion traffic in the future, investment in infrastructure will be necessary in the coming years. Following the creation of building legislation in 2016, it is planned that all level crossings will be technically secured and that the most urgent measures in the area of superstructure and civil engineering works will be carried out. These initial investment measures are subject to a preliminary design, which can be made available as part of the competition for participation. As part of this planning, a “initial investment needs” of EUR 3370 (net construction costs) were identified.
As part of the procurement procedure announced in this publication, an engineering firm will be selected to carry out the phases of the work. The services include service phase 3 for upgrading the Monsheim-Langmeil railway line in the areas of level crossings, management and safety equipment and track and civil engineering works, if the financial viability of the project is secured, phase 4 and then successively sub-contracting of service phases 5-9 (all service phases under § 43 HOAI for civil engineering works, § 47 HOAI for traffic installations).
