Description

For the new building complex of the former Schocken department store, a conversion of the existing areas and the preservation of the external appearance is sought. The four-storey new building Hauptstraße 11 will set an accent. The Marienplatz 4 building will be gutted and replaced by a new shell construction. The facade is professionally mapped, dismantled and largely rebuilt in the existing building.
For the buildings of Hauptstraße 3 to 9 and Marienplatz 6/8, a monument-appropriate renovation is planned.
In the buildings Hauptstraße 7/9 and Marienplatz 6/8, a spacious courtyard is planned from the 1st floor.
For the buildings Hauptstraße 3 and 5, the old structures are to be preserved inside and barrier-free connected to the neighboring building Hauptstraße 7. With access from the Mariengäßchen, a staircase of the Bauhaus architect Bernhard Sturtzkopf is attached, which is to be preserved and refurbished in accordance with historical monuments.
