Description

IADT is seeking proposals from interested service providers who wish to be considered for the provision of LOT 1: Irish Sign Language Interpreting Services LOT 2 : Educational Support Workers. The provision of these services will normally be required during the main academic year only – September to December and January to May, excluding all weekends and all academic and public holidays. The hours of work vary considerably according to a student’s needs and their timetable, but most students will require support for between 10 and 30 hours per week over two semesters of 12 weeks each. When a student is on placement and the successful tenderer is not required, they will not be paid and will be paid only for the hours worked. Please note that hours may change from semester to semester and from one academic year to the next and are based on individual student requirements. It is important to note that the academic timetable may only be available a short time before the start of each semester, and it is often subject to change especially in the first few weeks of the semester. Therefore, a certain amount of flexibility is required especially at this time before the final hours per student are confirmed. There may also be requests at short notice to facilitate where possible. In certain circumstances, support may be required by students off site, e.g., for field trips. Hours are dependent on a student being registered with Disability Support Service and dependent on funding being available. Please note that individual student needs may change at any point in an academic year, and support requirements may consequently change as well. IADT cannot guarantee the level of demand that will arise during any 12-month period throughout the agreement. If a student should withdraw from their programme, for any reason, support hours are no longer required.
