United Kingdom-Swansea: Laboratory services
The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) currently have the following contracts:
1) Provision of Carbohydrate Deficient Transferrin (CDT) Testing and confirmation services; and
2) Provision of toxicology services.
These contracts aide DVLA to make licensing decisions. CDT sample screening provides further information of possible alcohol misuse through the analysis of blood samples and Toxicology provides screening and confirmation services for drugs of abuse through the analysis of urine samples.
DVLA are exploring if combining these services is a viable option. Suppliers may consider consortiums and or sub-contracting with Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) to ensure delivery. DVLA encourages fair and transparent procurement and omission from any part of the department's market engagement exercise shall not be taken into account in any subsequent procurement. It should be noted that responding to this notice does not place any service provider in an advantageous position.
