Germany-Freiburg: Works for complete or part construction and civil engineering work
The Federal Republic of Germany intends to construct a new chancellery in Algiers for the German embassy. The building site, which is approx. 3 700 m2 in size, is owned by the Federal Republic of Germany. The property is located in a well-landscaped and sophisticated residential area of Algiers. The property has a clear slope in the west-east direction. (Height difference approx. 7,0 m). The planned new building will have a total of 5 stories. The top 3 stories will house the chancellery rooms and the 2 bottom stories will house utility rooms, residential areas for employees and an underground garage with
16 parking spaces.
The gross floor area is approx. 3 600 m2 and the gross cubic capacity is approx. 14 500 m3.
The offices of the chancellery will be divided by a central, prestigious and three-story hall, which opens out to the landscape on the downhill side of the building with generous windows.
The facades of the upper stories will be cladded in ceramic elements. An open ceramic lamella construction in front of the windows will protect the rooms behind it from the sun as a permanent structure. The windows, doors and facades must offer additional protection against burglary and bullets. The rooms of the chancellery will be mechanically ventilated. Recirculating air cooling units will be used to provide sufficient cooling and heating within the rooms. Access to the property will be provided through a separate guard station. The solid enclosure walls around the property should be equipped with a new protection against exceeding.
