Description

The object of the contract is the contracting of the supply, subscription and access to individual foreign electronic periodicals, packages of foreign electronic periodicals of publisher, general databases (full text and referential) and electronic books during the year 2027, for the University Library of the University of Alicante, divided into the following lots: Lot 1: Electronic Foreign Individual Periodical Publications and Electronic Foreign Periodical Publisher Packages. Lot 2 : General databases (full text and referential) and e-books. The processing of this file is justified by the need to cover the needs arising from research and teaching at this University, for which it is necessary to contract the supply of the collection of periodicals, e-books, databases and packages of foreign electronic periodicals of publisher subject to this tender. For this, a number of electronic periodicals of more than 74,000 titles are subscribed, individually or in packages. The management of all these subscriptions requires agents specialized in the publishing sector. With this contract the University of Alicante: - Prevents dispersion in the management of subscriptions by concentrating and homogenizing the processing and practicing greater control over access claims - It has a single interlocutor per lot that manages the electronic accesses of the periodicals of dozens of different publishers. The use of this collection is analyzed and evaluated annually, through indicators such as cost-effectiveness and is presented in the User Commissions that are held every year in order to adapt the different resources to the teaching and research needs.
