Description

Dublin City Council gives notice to invoke Article 32(2)(b) of Directive 2014/24/EU which states that the negotiated procedure without prior publication may be used where the works, supplies or services can only be supplied by a particular economic operator for (iii) the protection of exclusive rights, including intellectual property rights. Dublin City Council intends to award a contract to Britannica Library for a period of four years at an estimated value of £23,530 ex VAT. Specifically developed for public libraries, Britannica Library contains comprehensive safe and secure information for all ages. With its junior, student and adult interfaces, this award-winning online learning resource lets library users of all ages and abilities access comprehensive and interactive e-learning information. With differentiated, age-appropriate content, readers can access resources that are engaging, informative and safe. Encyclopædia Britannica contains hundreds of thousands of articles on all major topics as well as a wide selection of biographies and videos. The entries are compiled by experts from around the world, as well as by their own team of editors who all have expertise in their subject areas. All the entries are fact-checked and edited to ensure high standards of readability, reliability and accuracy. Articles are edited for length in order to provide students and other learners and researchers with plenty of background information without overwhelming them. Existing articles are also revised and updated on a regular basis to reflect new developments in those areas of knowledge.
