Description

Please request a copy of the PQQ and supporting documentation for this project:
Bidders are invited to tender to provide a web-based assessment and personal management portfolio for the Modernising Scientific Careers (MSC) training programme. The system needs to provide a record of work based training activity and assessments. It will need to function as a personal assessment and learning record for the trainee and also as a way through which trainers can interact most effectively with their trainees. It must provide scope for the trainee to be responsible for and to hold all relevant training information and supporting evidence as well as an active, real time assessment tool. The system needs to incorporate monitoring, review and have reporting capability so that those responsible for maintaining the standards of the MSC programme are able to ensure consistency with ease and identify any trainees in difficulty and not progressing as expected. The system will require the capability of supporting 22 different specialist Scientist Training Programmes (STP), as well as workplace assessments for 5 themed programmes for undergraduate practitioners. The creation of a web-based system will provide a long-term and effective solution for the management and delivery of workplace-based assessment in healthcare science, enabling data to be generated in an up-to-date working environment and creating an electronic system through which oversight and quality assurance can be maintained. The use of the on-line assessment portfolio will enable monitoring of compliance and progress with workplace-based assessment requirements for all trainees.
