United Kingdom-Worcester: Road-inspection services
Worcestershire County Council propose to issue tender documents for the provision of Sideways-force Coefficient Routine Investigation Machine (SCRIM), and Surface Condition Assessment of the National Network of Roads (SCANNER) surveys in early 2019. The single contract is likely to be for an initial period of 3 years with the option to extend up to a maximum of a further 2 years. SCRIM surveys are required on Principal “A” class roads and Strategic and Main Distributor “B” class roads. Indicatively, the average annual survey lengths (lane/km) are as follows: A Roads, B Roads, Total 1016 128 1144 SCRIM surveys shall be carried out in accordance with the procedures set out in the design manual for roads and bridges, Volume 7, Section 3 — HD28/15 — Skidding Resistance. SCANNER surveys are required in one direction only on Principal “A” Roads, “B” Roads and “C” Roads. Indicatively, the average annual survey lengths (lane/km) are as follows: A Roads, B Roads, C Roads, Total 556 386 528 1470 SCANNER surveys shall be carried out in accordance with Volumes 4 and 5 of the UK Roads Board publication, “SCANNER Surveys for Local Roads” (2009) or any later amended version.
