Description

NHS Blood and Transplant wishes to procure new rapid plasma freezers which will be required to freeze all appropriate apheresis and whole blood derived plasma components, along with cryoprecipitate components, to the appropriate core temperatures in the time frames specified in the Guidelines for Blood Transfusion Services in the UK — current edition and the Council of Europe guidelines
This tender will deliver a rapid plasma freezer platform for implementation across the manufacturing centers (Colindale, Filton and Manchester).
The scope includes the following:
— Supply of the rapid plasma freezers including relevant peripheral equipment and consumables — estimated budget of 750 000 GBP;
— Ongoing equipment maintenance — valued at 75 000 GBP.
The contract duration is 4 years with an expected start date of June 2016.
