Call for Investment Readiness Experts at the Service of African Technology Startups Text automatically translated in your browsing language Automatically translated
Digital Africa launched in 2024 its "Platform" offer to support startups in its portfolio, which are multisectoral African tech startups in early stage (pre-seed and seed). One of the pillars of support includes access to a pool of business experts. The startups in our portfolio operate in a competitive and uncertain environment, where their ability to demonstrate their economic viability and growth potential is crucial to attracting investors' attention. Yet, at this early stage, they often lack the necessary structure to meet the expectations of financial stakeholders. These startups have generally not yet implemented robust financial tools or developed communication strategies tailored to their target audience, which places them at a considerable disadvantage. The need for Investment Readiness goes far beyond just preparing for fundraising. It is about strengthening the credibility of startups by providing them with the means to better understand and manage their business, anticipate their financial needs, and structure their operations to reduce the risks perceived by investors. This preparation is also essential to enable them to transform their entrepreneurial vision into a convincing and coherent narrative, capable of captivating and reassuring potential investors. Digital Africa therefore uses expertise structures and/or freelancers to support and develop the "Investment Readiness" of the startups in its portfolio. Digital Africa invests in and supports startups in 18 priority countries: Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, Tanzania, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, Uganda, Zambia, Togo, Cameroon, Algeria, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Angola, Mozambique, Sudan, DRC. Thus, the selected experts will be French-speaking, English-speaking and/or Portuguese-speaking. As part of the support in Investment Readiness of African tech startups in the seed and pre-seed phase, it will therefore be necessary to help startups to structure its fundamentals (financial and others), with a solid business plan and a complete data room, while developing a powerful pitch deck and a convincing narrative. He coaches founders to strengthen their communication and confidence during presentations to investors, developing their leadership skills. By guiding them in the approach of the right partners and developing an engagement strategy, it prepares them to maximize their chances of raising funds while laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth.
