D-Sigmaringen: communication land-line rental
The subject of this invitation to tender is the supply to the tenderer (contractor) of the optical fibre infrastructure built by the municipalities for use in the form of network operation. The main obligation of the contractor is to ensure the operation of the network.
The cities and municipalities participating in this call for tenders (Sigmaringen, Meßkirch, Illmensee, Leibertingen, Inzigkofen, Sauldorf, Ostrach, Wald in the rural district of Sigmaringen and Hohenfels in the rural district of Konstanz) have established BLS-Breitbandversorgungsgesellschaft in the rural district of Sigmaringen mbH & Co. KG (hereinafter referred to as the contracting authority). The contracting authority organises the call for tenders for the operation of the network and, as the contracting authority, becomes a contracting party to the contractor acting as the network operator.
The contracting authority has built a coherent fibre infrastructure in the respective urban/municipality areas in order to improve broadband coverage through the construction and closure of partially existing fibre lines/networks.
The designated street cabinets (KVz) of the local telecommunications company (Deutsche Telekom AG – DTAG) were driven in a municipality using fibre optic cables. These fibre lines are connected to a common network. The Sigmaringen/Meßkirch and Ostrach/Illmensee network areas were connected by a radio line. The connected KVz can supply final customers via the existing copper lines of the local telecommunications operator (DTAG). Thus, the criteria for an FTTC network structure are met.
