Description

In catchment areas of Saxon surface and groundwater bodies that are in poor status in terms of water quality under the EU Water Framework Directive (WFD) and where agriculture is most needed (priority areas), nine Working Groups (WGs) were set up in 2009 with approximately 20 farms each to reduce agricultural inputs into surface and groundwater bodies. A working group (AK 10) with around 20 farms was set up in 2 009 in the two eastern rural districts of Saxony to develop, test and implement measures to adapt farms to climate change.
