Description

The Track archive consists of drawings of railways and their structures in the possession of the Finnish Transport Agency. It is therefore an archive of an authority governed by the Archives Act. Geographically, the material covers the whole of Finland and the period 1900-2018. The archive is still accumulating. The vast majority of the track record material is in analogue form, i.e. paper, plastic and limestone, but the archive also contains a significant number of electronic files as well as electronic drawing metadata. It is planned to further convert materials into digital format in the near future, and to harmonise the metadata communication with the Transport Agency’s metadata model. The security level of the target shall be the baseline.
