UK-Belfast: refuse recycling services
The Central Procurement Directorate (CPD), on behalf of the National Museums Northern Ireland (NMNI), intends establishing a contract for waste management of non-segregated recyclables with a view to diverting waste from landfill.
NMNI currently is the body responsible for the overall management and operations of the Ulster Museum, Ulster Folk and Transport Museum (UFTM), and the Ulster American Folk Park. Currently recycling arrangements are in place at the UFTM, the Ulster Museum, and Herron Road Stores. Separate Waste Management arrangements are in place for the Ulster American Folk Park and this location will not be party to this contract.
The UFTM has a staff of approximately 200 and an annual visitor attendance of 197 000. Currently generall waste is non-segregated recyclables and a small percentage of segregated waste. i.e Hazardous, WEEE, Confidential.
Collection and disposal of food waste is by separate arrangement with the caterers.
The Ulster Museum has reopened following refurbishment, reconstruction and redevelopment, it has a staff of 91,and an annual visitor turnover of approx 500 000+ waste is non segregated recyclables, apart from wood,

Herron Road Stores have fluctuating staff levels 15-25. Currently all waste is non segregated recyclables.
