Description

The service concerns the production of seals intended to ensure the sealing of the CSS cyclotron chambers, at the edge doors, HF resonators and the various cyclotron diagnostics (leakage rate < 1.10-9 Pa m³/s).
These are knife type aluminium joints made by forming and welding profiled strips 6 metres in length.
GANIL decided to use a company qualification system with a pre-selection phase and a selection phase.
Stage 1: pre-selection phase.
GANIL will pre-select candidates to complete the joints.
The pre-selection tests will be as follows:
— samples will be supplied by GANIL to carry out the welding tests,
— a numbered sample must then be submitted in order to carry out 10 welding tests.
GANIL will have X-ray checks carried out by an inspection body in accordance with standard NF EN ISO 10675-2 level 1. These checks will be formalised in a report.
— a destructive test by folding shall also be carried out on each weld in order to check its strength, in accordance with standard NF EN ISO 5173.
This phase will make it possible to select candidates who will be able to access the selection phase.
Stage 2: selection phase.
GANIL will only send the phase 2 technical specifications and the plans to the selected candidates.
GANIL will request:
— the production of 2 joints in accordance with plane 8514-21-20-004 and 2 joints in accordance with the reference plane 8514-21-20-007,
— the production and inspection file provided for in the specification.
Applicants must specify the technology used for qualification by GANIL prior to any final completion of joints, in order to assess the quality of the sealing of the welds.
The joints shall be transported packaged and protected from impact.
A waterproofing test will be carried out at GANIL on these joints under real conditions in order to verify their tightness. In the event of a leak on more than one joint, the candidate will not be selected.
At the end of this selection (phase 2), GANIL will be able to award the contract to one or more qualified candidates.
To date, the estimated quantity to be manufactured is:
— firm order: 58 joints divided into 8 different references,
— without commitment: 100 joints divided into 8 different references.
