Description

The subject of the call for tenders is public passenger transport services in on-demand shuttle traffic in the Winnenden and Swabian Forest operating areas. The On Demand Shuttle (ODS) is a demand-driven mobility service in which passengers can flexibly order and pay for minibuses via an app. The vehicles do not run according to a fixed timetable, but serve so-called virtual stops in the specified area on request of the passengers (= On Demand). The routes are automatically calculated by a software-based background system (disposition system) and the algorithm ensures that passengers with similar destinations share a vehicle (pooling). From the first day of operation, the ODS replaces the late evening and night call taxi services to and from Winnenden (lines RT30, RT31, RT332, RT334). Until 31.07.2025, a parallel operation of on-demand traffic and call taxis is planned, whereby call fax traffic has priority with regard to transport through the application of the anti-cannibalization rules defined by the district.
