Description

The Forestry Commission has awarded for the mulching of all vegetation, stumps, brash, tops, offcuts and windblown trees on previously felled area. Stumps do not need to be fully removed but mulched to ground level to allow forest tractors a safe operating surface. All material on site to be mulched down to a medium tilth.
In some areas it may be necessary to make repeated passes to ensure that a medium tilth of mulch is left on woodland floor. There must be minimal disturbance of the soil profile and mulched material should be spread evenly over the surface.
