Description

The general objective of the project of which this contract forms part is to strengthen the capacity of a project management unit (UGPO) set up within the Directorate-General for Bridges and Roads (DGPC) during the implementation of the Sfax-Sidi Bouzid and Kasserine Economic Corridor project (the ‘Project’) in Tunisia. The project concerns the 2*2-lane construction of the GP13 national road between Sfax and Kasserine via Sidi Bouzid, which is essential for regional development, but also with a view to ensuring, in the long term, the improvement of the main inter-governorate trade routes within the country. To this end, the EIB plans to set up a technical assistance (TA) mission provided by a team of experts (the "Consultant") with experience in the implementation of road and motorway projects. The main objective of the TA will be to optimise the performance of the UGPO as part of the monitoring of the Project, from a technical, financial and qualitative point of view, in particular with regard to environmental and social aspects, including climate change requirements, as well as aspects related to contract management and road safety.
