Description

The contract is for the provision of a composting facility/site and treatment of garden waste and municipal green waste. The contract term is from 13.3.2014 to 3.2.2016. The contractor must be appropriately licensed and able to accept and treat the compostable waste from the start of the contract. The compost produced shall meet a recognised standard and shall be marketed as a product for use in the private or public gardening sector or for the improvement of agriculture. The procurement is split into 2 lots:
Lot 1: The supply of a compostable facility/site and/or transfer station within 5 miles of the Stafford Borough boundary and the acceptance of green garden waste for composting. The amount of green waste will be approximately 13,000 tonnes per annum.
Lot 2: The collection and transportation of municipal green waste from Riverway Nursery, Riverway, Stafford to the treatment facility, supply the compost facility/site and accept municipal green garden waste for composting. The amount of municipal green waste will be approximately 500 tonnes per annum. The composting operations shall comply with all Government and DEFRA guidelines and regulations.
