D-Saarbrücken: architectural and related services
Architectural services for planning and site monitoring for the construction of new physiology of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Saarland in Homburg.
Architectural services for planning and site monitoring (execution planning, preparation of procurement, participation in procurement, site monitoring/construction monitoring, site management and documentation (corresponds to service phases 5-9, Section 33 HOAI); the planning services up to and including approval planning (corresponding to service phases 1-4, § 33 HOAI) are already available.
Initially, phases 5 and 6 will be awarded and phases 7-9 will be awarded on an optional basis. Saarland is building a new plant for physiology – Center for Integrative Physiology and Molecular Medicine (CIPMM) in the Homburg Campus. The new construction will be based on physiology and biophysics. Their 7 divisions and 3 young groups work with electrophysiological, behavioural and imaging techniques in the field of geneticly-based ‘integrative physiology’.
The planned usable area is approximately 4 500 m². The following operational activities are foreseen:
1) laboratory surfaces (electrophysiology, molecular biology, cellular, histology; approx. 2 150 m²);
Office space (approx. 870 m²);
Small animal husbandry in IVCs, behavioural and surgical rooms, flushing kitchens and disposal areas including autoclaving (approx. 640 m²);
Core facilities for high resolution microscopes and seminar and residence rooms (400 m²);
Other areas (ancillary rooms, etc., approx. 230 m²);
Fine-mechanical workshop and warehouse (approx. 210 m²).
The construction project is a research and laboratory building with livestock farming, consisting of 4 building blocks: 3 research and laboratory units housing 7 departments of physiology and a separate animal house. Internal development is carried out via a common three-storey hall with a lift system. There are three operating technology units located on the roofs.
The building permit procedure has already been initiated. The following project participants are already identified: — Aeroplane Planning Consultancy – Structural Design Design Office – Technical Equipment Design Office, here: High current, telecommunications and information technology installations, production installations – Technical Equipment Planning Office, here: Sewage, water and gas installations – Technical Equipment Planning Office, here: Heat supply – Soil Consultancy Office – Thermic Building Physics Consultancy.
In parallel to this contract, two other contracts will be launched at the same time:
1. Project management for buildings in accordance with Section 205 of the AHO Book Series No 9 for the construction of new physiology, similar to the service phases now being tendered;
In line with the tendered architectural services, planning services for installations of technical equipment (here: Indoor ventilation systems, building automation) for planning the construction of new physiology (service phases 5-9, § 53 HOAI).
