Description

The Swiss Federal Statistical Office (FSB) is the national centre for public statistics in Switzerland. It produces and publishes important statistical information on the state and development of population, economy, society, space and the environment. It complements these with overarching analyses, develops indicator systems for the recording of complex facts, develops scenarios of future developments and secures the historical data base. All activities of the Federal Statistical Office are based on the Federal Statistics Act, the Ordinance on the Organisation of Federal Statistics and other specific legal bases. The Annex to the Regulation lists over 200 specific statistical activities. Statistics production ranges from the conception of a survey, to data collection, quality control, customer support, data evaluation and publication. In phases of large workloads, the FSO occasionally relies on the support of external personnel hirers. As this can be the case throughout the statistical production process, the requirements for the personnel to be placed vary. In order to compensate for unpredictable losses (long-term absences, maternity leave, etc.), the FSO relies on employees from external personnel hirers.
