Description

Harzwasserwerke GmbH has been operating the Söse Nord drinking water transport pipeline since 1936, through which a supra-regional supply of drinking water takes place between the Sösetalsperre in the Harz Mountains and the Hanseatic city of Bremen. Due to the old age of the existing steel line (DN 450), a renewal is planned for the line section from Melchiorshausen to Brinkum. The route of the new line is continuously located in the carriageway area of Bundestraße 6. Only at the junction of the two waters of Gänsebach and Hombach does the new line swivel outside the carriageway in order to cross the waters parallel to the existing bridge structures. It is planned to relay a butt-seam welded steel pipeline (ZMPE) DN 600 (610 mm x 6.3 mm) with PPS over a length of approximately 4,060 m in the road body of the B6 as a replacement for the line DN 450 from the 1936s. Parallel to the cable, a telecommunications cable and a cable drain pipe DN 50 are laid. The drinking water supply is ensured during the construction project via the existing pipe. After hygienically perfect production and commissioning of the new line, the existing line is filled and remains in the ground. Parts of the existing pipeline to be expanded are disposed of as waste. The fan and emptying shafts on the section are demolished and rebuilt on the new line. The existing transfer points and the Leeste large valve shaft will be dismantled. The crossroads of the Gänsebach and the Hombach are being rebuilt in an open construction. The new installation requires earthworks, civil engineering, roadworks and pipeline construction, including water management. The water pipe must be installed under confined conditions. During the construction work, diversion routes must be set up and maintained. The road body (asphalt) shall be restored on half-side after the construction of the pipeline.
