The contract to be awarded – Bioparc General Project – Animal Collection Plan; Master plan and architecture specify zoo, consisting mainly of the following:
The determination, presentation and overall design of the areas and habitats proposed to be created within the Biopark by reference to the specific characteristics of the area and animals included, to the vegetation plan adapted for the proposed area.
Identification, description and overall design of the sites/habitats for each animal or group of animals by reference to the natural habitat of the species and the possibility of meeting the biological, physiological and psychological requirements of the animal in relation to: the components of the habitat, the components of the animal’s site, the building component within the habitats/locations of the animals, the component and description of the habitat specific to the habitat, the way visitors view the habitat, the area and the way in which the habitat is divided by the area accessible to visitors.
General description and design of the circulation plan for visitors and staff
General description and design of the entrance areas – not covered by the identification, description and design of all component elements and plots
General identification, presentation and design of visitor facilities – buildings and areas for visitors and administrative areas
Preparation of the Animal Collection Plan – identification and presentation of animals in terms of a) the animal’s social behaviour, b) its adaptability to the environment of the site, c) conservation of the species to be included in the Biopark.
