Description

United Kingdom's Border Force (UKBF) is a Directorate of the Home Office. UKBF currently operate a fleet of five (5) sea going patrol craft operating in both UK National and International waters. These craft are designated as ‘Cutters’ each of which also carries a Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) which provides an interception and boarding facility. Currently the fleet comprises two different vessel classes, Four (4) 42 meter DAMEN 4207 Stan Patrol class Cutters and One (1) 49 meter Rauma built Telkka class Cutter.
BF are seeking to replace all five (5) of the existing 10-12 year old RIBs which have reached the end of their operational life.
When at sea both classes of Cutter have a requirement for, and are capable of, deployment and recovery of their respective RIBs, with full operational trim and personnel load, whilst underway. All RIBs can also be deployed and recovered whilst the Cutters are static, at anchor or alongside.
