Description

This voluntary ex-ante transparency (VEAT) notice serves to confirm that Trinity College Dublin intends to establish a 5-year service and maintenance contract with Bruker AXS LLC, 5465 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI, 53711, United States. The contract concerns a Comprehensive Service Agreement for the Bruker ( Nion) UltraSTEM 200 System Serial No.0015-11 located in the Advanced Microscopy Lab (AML) CRANN, Trinity College Dublin, Dublin 2, Ireland. The agreement will cover: • E-mail, telephone, and remote operational support. • Software updates, generally delivered remotely. • Repair/refurbishment of sample cartridges. • Corrective service visits, when needed. • Repairs of all parts of the Bruker microscope system, including CFE gun and emitter replacement, microscope column including the sample stage, pumping system, and microscope electronics and software. The repairs include free replacement of malfunctioning components. (Note: does not apply to parts damaged by customer negligence or natural disasters, e.g., fires, floods, earthquakes, and hurricanes. Repairs of parts damaged by customer negligence or natural disasters will be charged at Bruker’s cost plus 20%.) Replacement/refurbishment of microscope components worn out during normal operation, typically subject to limits which correspond to “regular use” e.g.: o Ronchigram CCD scintillator, BF and DF scintillators: typically, no sooner than after 5 years of usage o Turbomolecular pump: typically, no more than after 5 years of usage • Microscope components damaged due to irregular use such as customer negligence will be supplied at Bruker’s cost plus 20% • Maintenance of EELS electron-optical set-up and advice on EELS-related problems. This does not include repairing Gatan EELS hardware or software - servicing of these items is to be requested by TCD directly from Gatan. • Compatible Bruker hardware upgrades/enhancements available at Bruker’s cost plus 20%. • Yearly preventative maintenance / performance verification / software upgrade visit. • Maintenance of EDXS interface to microscope and advice on EDXS-related problems by Bruker. • Maintenance of EDXS hardware under Bruker Service-- includes no-charge factory repair of all other Bruker-manufactured non-consumable parts/components and any hardware options purchased with/for the system (or 50% discount on repairs of damage due to mishandling); Parts Exchange Program (limited to availability); software updates/bug fixes (but not upgraded features, or HW upgrades); shipping to customer site from Bruker.
