Description

The subject of this call for tenders is ‘Inspection of the technical characteristics of sections of the national road network in Bulgaria in order to establish road safety performance and indicators, in two lots: • Lot No 1 - Light data for which specialised equipment is not needed’. The purpose of the public procurement is to appoint a contractor and to conclude a contract with him for the inspection of the technical characteristics of sections of the national road network (RN) in Bulgaria for the establishment of performance and road safety indicators, in accordance with the regulatory requirements and in compliance with the agreed deadlines. For the purposes of updating the existing and creating a new database, the Road Infrastructure Agency aims to obtain clear, specific, measurable and unambiguous data with regard to the technical characteristics and geometric parameters of the RPM. *Note: A detailed description of the subject-matter of the contract is set out in the Terms of Reference for the tender procedure for carrying out an ‘Inspection of the technical characteristics of sections of the national road network in Bulgaria to establish the performance and road safety performance of two lots: Lot No 1 – Light data, for which no specialised equipment is needed; Lot No 2 – Heavy data, for which equipment with highly specialised equipment is needed’ (Annex A and Annex B), annexed to the tender documents! In view of the need to improve the condition and safety of the RPM and in order to analyse the performance and road safety performance, it is necessary to establish the technical characteristics and geometric parameters of existing roads. The road survey will help to increase the efficiency of road network management, as well as create opportunities to support high-quality economic growth, ensuring the good development of transport infrastructure, by promoting new technologies and innovations. The public procurement was initiated because the Road Infrastructure Agency should establish an up-to-date and detailed database of all characteristics (including the existing operational status of all road elements) on the basis of which the activities of planning and prioritising road maintenance, major repairs and reconstruction of roads are carried out. *IMPORTANT!
