Description

The draft for the Bayreuth JH is characterised by a landscape situation in which, from a central atrium/lobby area, individual two-storey functional areas grow into the terrain in star shape. The approximately 30 m long room wings are in line with the north-east and south-east. In the room wing area, a wooden structure placed on the solid reinforced concrete ceiling will be provided as a roof, while in the seminar and foyer areas the wooden structure remains open and thus visible.
Between the parts of the building, the associated functions, such as a sports field and vegetation zones, provide a coherent overall approach with the building.
The low height of the building underlines the topographical integration and thus counteracts the dominance of a multi-storey building on the large-scale green plot.
The intended users focus on school classes but also sports groups.
