Description

This contract concerns the preparatory work (VoMa actions) on the Rhône Bridge in Saint-Maurice, located on the N09.56 Bex-Nord – Martigny motorway section. These are two cable-stayed bridges, one per lane, which allow the N09 motorway to cross the Rhône between the tunnels under the Arzillier (right bank) on the Vaud side and the covered slot of Saint-Maurice (left bank) on the Valais side. They require targeted reinforcement and repair measures. Measures include (non-exhaustive list): the reinforcement and protection of the pylons by means of a lining made of ultra-high-performance fibre-reinforced concrete (UHFB), the reinforcement of the pylon heads with a steel box and prestressed cross beams, the insertion of rock anchors into the anchorage blocks of the inclined ropes, the reinforcement of the Valais abutment of the bridge upstream by means of an external preload, as well as the replacement of the bearings, the punctual reinforcement of the steel structure of the longitudinal beams and the anchorage coils of the inclined ropes, the replacement of the restraints on the bridges and their ends.
