Description

Subject of the contract according to ΄ no. 1/2026 Study (Annex II of ΄ no. 26/2026 Call), entitled: "Pruning and Planting of Trees on Municipal Sidewalks", of the Green Maintenance Department A΄, B΄ & G΄ Community, of the Green & Environment Directorate, is the execution of the provision of a service which exclusively concerns the maintenance, expansion and protection of tree rows within the urban fabric. With the implementation of this action, the Directorate aims to reduce the risk arising from the condition of trees in tree rows, with the ultimate aim of protecting citizens, environmental upgrading of the city and improving the quality of life of both residents and visitors of the city. The achievement of the above objectives is pursued overall by works on tree lines relating to:  Shaping the crown (removal of low branches) of 8,634 trees per year.  Renewal and pruning of 10.550 trees per year, of various categories on the sidewalks,  Cutting of trees (green with permission or dry) of 900 trees, dangerous trees on the sidewalks throughout the city as a priority and at the suggestion of the service.  Plant protection of 1,000 trees per year, with biological preparations in any parts of the city where infestation occurs and is recommended to the contractor,  The planting of 8,000 new trees in empty orchards throughout the city, upon the recommendation of the service.  Irrigation of 8,000 newly planted trees.  Grubbing-up of 1,699 vines (the part of the root left after felling of the tree) in orchards throughout the city on request,  Tree maintenance works (irrigation, cleaning of orchards from undesirable vegetation-weeds).
