Description

The Pohjois-Savo wellbeing services county shall organise statutory rescue services and emergency medical services in its area. Rescue service production is governed by the Rescue Act, under which the regulations issued require a time- and resource-specific readiness to act for the commencement of effective rescue operations. The areas in the centre of Leppävirta and Sorsakoski form a risk area II, where effective rescue operations must be started in 10 minutes. The statutory operating time requirement requires that the rescue station is located in the vicinity of the Leppävirta agglomeration along good transport connections.
