The town of Villeurbanne provides its 162,000 inhabitants with a public reading network consisting of two bibliobuses, an EACS (artistic, cultural and scientific education) service and three media libraries: the Maison du livre de l'image et du son, the Tonkin Media Library and the Rize Media Library. With 16,628 active users and 330,000 borrowable documents, all media (books, periodicals, CDs, DVDs, games, etc.), all these establishments operate in a network under the Syracuse (Archimed) document management system and carry out approximately 1.7 million annual loan and return transactions.
