Description

Winter maintenance activities shall be carried out in the period from 1 November to 10 April, depending on weather conditions, and may be carried out earlier or later than that period. Winter maintenance covers the municipal street network, municipal roads (listed in Annex 3), sidewalks, underpasses, overpasses, LBT stops and other places for public use, as well as removal of icicles from bridge facilities on the territory of the municipality of Dobrich. It includes preparatory works: examinations of the machines and equipment requested for use by the Contracting Authority, provision of the necessary materials, transportation of crates and indication of piles of inert materials at certain places, etc.; snow removal (patrol and periodic) of the streets to achieve the appropriate degree and level of winter maintenance, removal of compacted snow-ice layers; dispersion of mineral materials and chemical substances, collection and transmission of information on the condition of the street network, provision of out-of-hours duties and on-call duties on holidays and weekends during the winter period. Snow cleaning of the streets is carried out as a priority, the routes being defined according to the general scheme of public transport lines and streets with intensive traffic, described in Annex No 1. The contract activities cover two winter operating seasons. The operational winter season is considered to be the period from November 1 to April 30 of the following year, and the service is performed outside the above period in the presence of snowfall and ice, established by a protocol signed by representatives of the CONTRACTING AUTHORITY and the CONTRACTOR.
