Description

The ā€˜IBERIAN CENTRE FOR RESEARCH IN ENERGY STORAGE CIIAE’ aims to create a research centre in Extremadura in order to contribute to solving the technological and scientific challenges that allow the manageability of green energy production, through the deployment of energy storage technologies, based on lithium-ion, and industrial applications of hydrogen and production, storage and transport in the large-scale hydrogen industry. The CIIAE will be equipped with laboratories that allow the development of the entire energy storage cycle, from the chemistry-physics of materials, to their scaling and application, through the testing of connected storage systems. In addition, it will have unique infrastructures that allow tests of high-power equipment, and networks and micro networks for the realization of advanced management pilots. In addition to the construction of the urban infrastructures and buildings that will make up the future CIIAE on the grounds of the University Campus of CĆ”ceres, the center will be equipped with the necessary scientific technological equipment and pilot plants, as well as other basic equipment, essential for the development of its activities. This equipment will be tendered by FUNDECYT-PCTEX, as a bridge entity between the start-up of the CIIAE and the constitution of an entity with its own legal personality that will be subrogated to the equipment acquired and all those contracts for the acquisition of equipment and infrastructures in execution period and those that have been received by FUNDECYT-PCTEX, as well as how many rights and obligations have been contracted by the bridge entity in its initial phase.
