Description

Scope.
The contract includes the construction of a makeshift wall shielding the terminal building that is currently in use towards the construction of the Pier North.
The contract will be implemented as a client-controlled execution contract where the delivery requirements are specified by the requirement specifications and technical drawings. It is possible for contractors to propose alternative building solutions. The contract also includes the dismantling of the wall before the new pier north is commissioned.
The wall is for climate separation and shall be designed for wind loads, sound and fire requirements. It will serve as a divide from the construction site during the construction period and until the North Pier completion date, and that the critical security restricted area (CRSA) separation from terminal operations. The solution includes structural and implementation optimization to minimize the impact on passengers, safety, and secures regular terminal operation.
Planning the implementation well be done through consultation with both the builder and Osl drift. During the construction phase the terminal will be in full operation and guidelines will be provided that will address this.
The Wall stretches over approximately 120 meters in length and the highest point of the wall is around 30 meters and includes large portions with this height including adjustments to existing wall, totaling about 4000 m2. The wall consists of large steel structures clad with double-diaphragm elements. The wall is customized with transitions to existing floors, roofs and facades.
The wall will be built in several phases and over several levels. Parts of the wall shall be built with canopies over the passenger areas.
The following contracts are other contracts involved with this conversion:
Electrical, ICT, Pipes, Ventilation, VA.
The work will mainly include the following:
— Carrying structures in steel,
— aluminium sandwich panel and siding,
— Roofing and insulation for protection of existing structures north of the makeshift wall,
— Connections to existing buildings,
— Paint and repair of existing floor coverings after / during work period,
— Fireproofing,
— Provisional measures to maintain that the terminal stays in operation, protecting exposed structures,
— Assembly technical systems for fasteners / guides / re-adjustment technical systems / supplemental lighting, etc,
— Removal of wall and steel structures by 2016.
It must be assumed that parallel activities will take place and coordination with operations and other contracts on the construction site. The construction of the makeshift north wall will take place in close parameters of passengers and other operational activity at the airport. The work carried out in accordance with current Osl and T2 procedures for this type of work. Other interfaces clarification with suppliers / other contractors and the designers engaged by the awarding authority must also be expected.
The work will take place on the red side/area within the designated critical security restricted area (CRSA). The eastern part of the wall on level DF will take place in the interface between the red and white zones. It is therefore of particular requirements for security clearance and measures.
Internal transport and handling of large items in the passenger areas should be carried out at night with limited hours of operation and strict safety precautions. There will be a strong focus on safety throughout the execution of the contract. Parts of the wall at level D and work on the north side of the main construction will be done during the day.
The contract has the following main masses:
Steel suspension systems: about 170 000 kg.
Prefab aluminum sandwich panel about 3 000 m².
