Description

Support in parenthood is assistance under Chapter 11, Section 11 of the Social Insurance Act. The decision is made according to the delegation of the social welfare committee. The mission is to practically help parents who need support in their parenting, with what they cannot handle themselves. Due to physical barriers, a parent may have difficulties caring for their children. The person who provides practical support in parenthood complements the parent where they are not able to perform a task themselves. The practical support should not replace the parent, but should always be carried out together with the parent. The intervention is guided by the mission of the social services and instructions from the parent.
