Description

The aim of the project is to revitalize the Danube bank, to create the character of a complex urban public space and to expand its recreational and touristic functions. The defensive structure and the public spaces connected to it are decisive elements of the image of the city of Mohács, and accordingly the aesthetic designs of the entire area must be treated uniformly. The objective of the plan is to make maximum use of the unique location of the city on the riverside by harmonising the needs of residents and visitors with the technical necessity of flood protection. The aim of the contracting authority is to create a recreational area that typically performs public functions in areas mostly owned by municipalities. In addition to their conditioning effect, the green areas on the Danube bank are an integral part of the city's everyday life, but both the green area and the accessibility and usability of these areas, as well as their pedestrian connections, need to be significantly improved. The area’s current green surface is close to nature, but its use for recreational purposes is limited due to the disordered nature of the area – only the pavement running along the bank of the Danube can be accessed, and there are no other exploratory paths between the vegetation in most of the area. In connection with the planned functions, the establishment of additional pedestrian links in the area, the development of existing transport links, the establishment of bicycle paths, and the provision of parking facilities within the area. The growth of cycling traffic is taking place with surprisingly underdeveloped infrastructural conditions. As a natural transport corridor, the Danube offers obvious advantages for cycling for both professional and leisure and tourism purposes. The demand for public and institutional bicycle parking spaces is increasing throughout the city. During the planning process, we have to take into account the flooding and flooding of the area from time to time. The development area currently provides space for various functions, but the organisation and quality of these functions is inadequate. The flood protection retaining wall cuts off the city from the bank of the Danube. During the design, the existing functions must be retained, with the proviso that they must be redesigned in a more economical and operable way. The goal is to turn the coast into a diverse, green meeting place. Priority should be given to walking and cycling, and a new link should be established between the river and the city – the city centre should be connected to the waterfront, transparent transport routes and well-accessible open spaces should be established. Objectives: - Maintaining and developing the natural environment, - Creating the coexistence of the city and the Danube bank, - Accessibility of the Danube bank, filling it with life and public functions, expanding its functional offer, - Strengthening traffic-reduced shores, public, cycling and walking traffic, - Preference of developments serving community interests (e.g.: development of boat harbours), - Reconstruction and renewal of neglected, impassable areas, expansion of green areas, - Variety of green areas (parks, waterfronts, squares, promenades, playgrounds), - Support for cycling (bicycle paths, service points, storage facilities, etc.) - Development of water transport (ferry, boat harbour, yacht harbour, hotel boats, etc.) - Creation of conditions for sports and water tourism, - Rethinking and improving the parking facilities surrounding the area, - Creation of uniform walking surfaces, street furniture, image, - Integration of the entire development area into the already existing spatial surveillance system, - Public service passenger ship port (disembarkation and embarkation, local, interurban and ferry) - Watertax port - Other passenger ship port (international, private) - Cabin tourist ship (hotel) port - Pleasure boat port (disembarkation and embarkation, sightseeing and event boating) - Motor boat port (yacht and other sports equipment) - Boat port, water sports facility port (human-powered equipment) - Catering - and entertainment venue - Recreational facility for public use (e.g.: water stage) Continuation: BT-24 (II.2.4) Text automatically translated in your browsing language Automatically translated
