Description

The object of this contract is the provision of the management services of the Municipal Shelter of Companion Animals of Torrevieja in terms of the collection, maintenance and custody of animals of any species that are wandering, lost, abandoned, homeless and seized, which are within the municipality of Torrevieja, as well as those animals of the feline species belonging to feline colonies that for reasons of need (health problems, re-location, conditioning of the colony of origin, etc.) must be temporarily housed in the facilities of the shelter or require veterinary care. This service will be provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in accordance with Law 2/2023 of 13 March 2023 on the Protection, Welfare and Ownership of Pets and other animal welfare measures. Article 21(2) of that law provides that ‘Municipalities may provide the collection and reception service for themselves or their associates under direct or indirect management. In the case of indirect management of those services, municipalities must lay down clauses on eligibility criteria, scoring and enforcement requirements linked to the objectives of that law’.
