Description

The Executive Team of Sustainable Food Systems Ireland (SFSI) undertakes business development, project preparation and delivery, project management and administration and coordination activities on behalf of the Consortium Members and is the point of contact for overseas clients - governments, agencies and other organisations. The Team can negotiate participation in international food, agriculture (including aquaculture) and rural development projects through direct business development activities and through engaging in open and restricted tenders on behalf of the Consortium members. The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine is an SFSI consortium member. The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) is issuing this Formal Request For Tender (RFT) on behalf of the SFSI consortium (the Contracting Authority). SFSI is the main project implementer of Component 2 ‘Strengthened high potential value chains’ element of larger project in the Turkish Cypriot community (TCc). This project is funded by the EU Aid Programme for the TCc. Component 2 focuses on strengthening the sheep and goat dairy value chain. DAFM is looking to fill the Team Leader role for this project through a services contract (47 months). This role will be a full-time residential role in the TCc for the duration of the 4 year project. The Team Leader will lead a team of short-term international experts consisting of: Dairy Value Chain Expert, Breeding Programme Expert, Sheep and Goat Animal Husbandry Expert, Genetic Evaluation Expert, Dairy Processing Expert and others. And a local Expert to lead the gathering of data from farms and processors. This Expert Team will be primarily responsible for the delivery of project activities, which will in turn contribute to the delivery of the 4 Outputs set out in the procurement document.
