Description

This contract is to deliver an Open Access Structured Youth Activity programme – ‘Positive activities' to provide a range of activities for children and young people aged 9-19 in order to encourage positive behaviour and prevent behaviour that will put them at risk. It will provide a range of open access structured youth activity programmes (positive activities), that will engage vulnerable children and young people who would benefit from 1:1 support. The purpose of these activities is to prevent the escalation of behaviours that will put them at risk, and encourage more positive behaviours in order to reduce the need for those young people to access more intensive services like Children's Social Care or the Youth Offending Service.
The Positive Activities service will focus on those children and young people with the greatest need, but will also ensure there are a variety of activities and a comprehensive coverage across Portsmouth, by removing existing geographical disparities, in order to ensure there suitable options available for all service users.
The contract is divided into 2 Lots - Lot 1 (North) and Lot 2 (Central & South). Both Lots will deliver the same service under the same specification - their difference lies in the geographical areas in which those services are delivered. Lot 1 will deliver in Paulsgrove, Cosham, Drayton & Farlington, Hilsea and Copnor
wards. Lot 2 will deliver in Nelson, Baffins, Fratton, Charles Dickens, Milton, St Thomas, Central Southsea, St Jude and Eastney & Craneswater wards.
