Authenticity Processes in Official Gazettes - Survey 2021
The digital transformation has found new ways to foster the connection between state and citizen by publishing and granting access to law for all. Laws in digital form allow for more efficient, user-friendly and secure access. This development implies a necessary reflection about authenticity and how citizens can trust that the information they receive on legislation is both correct and straight from the source.
In this regard, the European Forum of Official Gazettes conducted a survey among its members to understand how they handle the authenticity process of their Official Gazettes.
The objective of the survey was to gather a clear understanding of the legal and technical aspects of the authenticity process, its implications in the areas of contingency and long-term preservation, leading to their evaluation and plans for the future.
