Formation of the Court is a controlled vocabulary that specifies the composition of the courts of the European Union according to the case they are seized with, as defined in Articles 251, 254 and 257 of the Treaty on Functioning of the European Union (TFEU). It provides labels in all official EU languages. The concepts are used for producing reports of cases before the Court and for publishing case-law on the EUR-Lex site. Formation of the Court is used in an IMMC extension for which only one institution is the source (Court of Justice). It is updated in coordination with the Court of Justice of the European Union, maintained by the Publications Office of the European Union and disseminated on the EU Vocabularies website.
