European classification of individual consumption according to purpose adapted to the needs of the Harmonised Indices of Consumer Prices (ECOICOP-HICP)
The structure of ECOICOP-HICP is limited to the ECOICOP codes actually used in the HICP (Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices).
The ECOICOP codes (and their sub-items) not used for HICP purposes are the following:
02.3 – Narcotics;
04.2 – Imputed rentals for housing;
09.4.3 – Games of chance;
12.2 – Prostitution;
12.5.1 – Life insurance;
12.6.1 – FISIM.
To facilitate further analysis of consumer price developments, over 30 special aggregates (groups of individual ECOICOPs) are available as Collection, such as Food, Services, Energy, Non-energy industrial goods, etc.
