EU-funded research and innovation programmes such as Horizon Europe generate a vast amount of scientific knowledge, technologies and demonstrators. Yet only a fraction of these outputs achieves sustained uptake in markets, policy or society at large. This creates a structural “valorisation gap” between the production of high quality R&I results and their effective deployment – a challenge widely recognised across the EU innovation ecosystem for its implications for economic competitiveness and the green, digital and energy transitions.
